About Us

Welcome to the Utah/Idaho Chapter of JDRF!

JDRF Utah/Idaho Chapter covers both Utah and Idaho.  Our Chapter was founded in November 1996 by six volunteers who wanted to make a difference in the lives of kids with diabetes. They held the first Utah Chapter Walk to Cure Diabetes and raised an amazing $75,000!We have come a long way since that first Walk, now hosting SIX Walks across the states of Utah and Idaho. This year our Chapter’s goal is to raise $1.5 MILLION through the Walks to Cure Diabetes, Ride to Cure Diabetes, and numerous other fundraising initiatives.  Join us in the challenge!

Through the tireless efforts of our dedicated Board of Directors and our wonderful volunteers, we know we can make our goal! Our Chapter gives hundreds of hours of community service each year. We give out approximately 300 “Bags of Hope” to newly diagnosed children, hold many support group meetings, meet with our elected government officials to increase federal funding of diabetes research, and attend many health fairs to educate the public about diabetes awareness. As we move closer to a cure, we ask everyone, those now with us, and those who wish to join us, to stay on course and help us in any way you can in reaching out to those affected by diabetes in our community.
